Am i right in saying that Orthanc was made by the Maia with an unbreakable stone.

Wait i remember. Orthanc was made out of unbreakable stone but it definately wasnt wood. Im pretty sure his staff was metal though.

Mabye it is just wood.
The element of nature (wood) combined with gandalfs magic could have made the staff very strong and durable, or mabye it isnt strong at all...

I would think that Sarumans staff is metal. But i think that Gandalfs is wood.

I was gonna say, Sarumans staff is most definately metal, but Gandalfs staff looks very wood ;D.

Yeah the first one definately, and the second one doesnt look that wooden because its white, but im pretty certain its wood.

The first one is definatly wood.
But maybe the better the wizard they get the better staff the have. But to me, metal isn't very Magic.
But all the same i will look it up to make this all positive.

LOL, if its the better the wizard the better the staff then Gandalf the Grey must've been a pretty bad wizard.

Yeah, i think the staffs and the colour of the wizards was just to represent that Saruman was of a higher rank then Gandalf. Like the staffs that you pointed out Elvensword ;D. And the fact that Saruman is pure white and cool, whereas Gandalf is dirty and grey.

Yeah, that would be a little harder. ;D. Mabye its made out of reinforced plastic to lessen the weight ;D

hehe funny thing you mention about gandalfs robe ebeing dirty. in the first draft that Tolkien made, after the fall of Isengard, Sarumans robe was white, then it become dirty, i believe it said unwashed and grey, not white

Oh ok, that would make sense though, Sarumans robe becoming grey. Because he has just lost everytihng and mabye with it he lost some of his magic power...
