Yep, I saw it yesterday and my dad got it on copy today just until the Extended version comes out. It is a very good film, I especially like when the Eagles came to fend of the Nazgul. Very good.

i noticed some thing in LOTR.
why didnt someone just jump on an eagle, fly to the crack of doom, destroy the ring, and try to fly away again.
it could have worked.
another thing. they have gunpowder, cos in FOTR gandalf had fireworks, fairplay they were kinda magic ones, and in TTT saruman used it to breach the outer wall at helms deep.
SO WHY HAVE THEY NOT INVENTED GUNS? ? ?
not saying i would want guns in Tolkeins world though, just a thought!

Well first of all none of the eagles wanted to carry the ring as they found that the whispering evil of it was too great for their animal mids to conqur. And second i don't think that guns were invented for years after gunpowder was. And orcs would just end up blowing it up at the wrong time and killing tons of orcs and no men. They aren't that clever. Only uruk0hai can be trusted with that.

The movies were beautiful. I half cried when the Return of the King ended. So sad that something that good has to end.....oh well, we can just watch it over and over!

RotK was by far the best, but I felt the end was a little long, and a bit unnecessarily dragged out. They left out as much of the Ents in TTT as they should have cut out of the ending in RotK (about 30min) but as a whole it was a great movie. I loved the Gimli/Legolas thing... "That still only counts as 1!!!" and other random assorted quotes that come from them..

Yes peter jackson was very loyal to the book, in most cases this was a very good thing, but in the case of the dragged out ending, it was a bad thing.

I also liked that PJ added a bit of humour into the film. I loved every bit of the film. ;D But yes Elrohir, i also think that the ending was dragged out. But it was still quite upsetting. I want the Hobbit (which i hear is being made) to be directed by PJ. He is the best for the job. He will stay true to the book but will make the film to the best of his capabilities. But thats what i think...
