In another online game Star wars galaxies NPCs were able to be employed in factions and such. Do you think this will be possible in MEO or will the NPCs only be there for shops and just to walk round to make places seem more crowded?

The NPC's will be the ones who give out quests, information, give items, craft, sell, buy, etc. I don't think they'll be employed in factions, but they won't just be walking around to make places seem more crowded (although they might do so, apart from their other duties). I think the Devs are going for the opportunity of a storyline for some, and the NPCs will definetely be a part in the storyline, if the player chooses to have one.

has anyone got the news letter, if not sign up now. www.meosource.comits really good. Also i read a DEV diary saying that the NPCs are going to be super intelligent. Go on the middle earth online site and read the latest DEV diary. It's good.

On one of the Dev Diarys on MEO Site it talks about AI and that the NPC wont be woundering around aimlessly and will have actual destinations to go to. Sounds cool. Oh and even animals do ie. Chickens.

yeah, if enemies and NPCs are thick, then it kind of spoils the whole game.

They will also have branching convosations, and not one-liners that are constantly on loop.

I hope they'll have a system like they did in some other RPG i played, cant remember which one but you would click which one you wanted to say and end up having a proper conversation, very good game, very advanced for it's time

Well, Runescape is not exactly your standard MMO. That's quite a different game, because of a few differences (mainly, the fact it's hosted on a website, and the simplicity of the game compared to an MMO).
But yes, MEO is planning on making a good system of NPCs..let's hope they come through with it.

No problem..a short version of MMORPG, which is a massively multiplayer online role playing game. (There are a few variations on the first M, but it's all the same to me.)

We're probably not going to see the Fellowship, as for us players, the timeline is "one step behind the Fellowship". But we still have Fangorn Forest to watch over!

It was said on the Official MEO website that there would be no contact with any of the Fellowship, however there will be NPCs from the books such as Farmer Maggot and Elrond.

That would probably be a minor hobbit quest. It might be out of character for a five hundred year old elf to sneak some mushrooms out of his field. But who cares about appearances. Grip and Fang beware, the elves strike again! ;D
