I thought I should make a thread that doesn't contain elves, you can post about elves here but try not to post too much

Lets see, what do I like. Ents, hobbits, dragons, orcs, vampires, werewolves, trolls, Rohan, Gondor, Barlogs. Take a pick.

Dragons, dragons are cool, there ain't many dragons in Middle Earth is there, I would like to hear about the dragons but that was like Tolkien's view on magic, it didn't really belong, here's a quote from The Tolkien Encyclopidia, "Magic didn't belong in Middle Earth, it belongs in a place with pixies and faries in another world, the same with dragons and other fairytale creatures, I also had a different view on elves, to everyone else they were small and magical but my idea of elves seemed to change the view of many others. Nothing I wrote was very magical, there was of course the wizard but they did not posses much power, most of my work was like our world, no magic or strange animals, well there's elves and ent's and other's like this but I created them, thats were they belong." A think that explains magic pretty well although I said dragons lol, it explains why there isn't many of that type of creature.

Well i think that sums that up. Post it on the Magic in MEO page and that will end that thread.lol
I think we should talk about Balrogs. They are the best. Created by Morgoth. Thats all i really know about them at the moment. Please continue for me. BALROGS ROCK.
I hope there are none in MEO. If you run into one you are Mince meat. lol ;D

It would be great to have a Barlog in MEO. It would be a great boss guarding some very nice treasure for high level gamers. We would probably need to bring quite a few kinships to take him down. As to Barlog in Middle earth, weren’t they Maiar who rebelled with Morgoth? Morgoth’s only real power was to corrupt what already existed, he was unable to create any thing completely new or original. But, Barlog are defiantly the coolest bad guys in the books. Wouldn’t want to find one of those hiding in my closet.

Well i have just read in the Middle Earth online disscusion on these forums that there will be no Balrog. He is in a picture but the disscusion about the Balrog. It was only a small one but i found this out.
The Balrog in the picture was just made to show off graphics. You should go and read it there.
Lets go back to Dragons. They are cool.

I think I read somewhere that there would be dragons in MEO. I wonder if they will be the flying dragons, or if they will have some of the land waking ones too. Smuag in the Hobbit was cool, wouldn’t want to get into a fight with a dragon as strong as he was.

There was not only one Balrog, but several, and yes there will be some Balrogs in game. More will be realesed in the next newsletter about monsters .

It makes sense that there could be more barlogs hiding in ME. Tolkien never said that all the barlogs were gone. Some may have hid in some out of the way place. Some could have surrendered to the Valar, only to violate their parole like Sauron did.

I can't remember where I read this, but in one of my small collection I read that a few BALROGS hid themselve under the roots of mountains after Beleriand was broken. That's what I can remember. I'll post the quote tonight if I get time.
Seeya.

Well if there are Balrogs in game i will steer clear of them. But i know there was more than 1 Balrog. Didnt Morgoth have a whole load of them?

Most of the balrogs were taken care of during the battle that ended Morgoth’s rule, but some are probably still lurking around in some hole they found to hide in. Such as the balrog Galdalf fought in Moria.

Smaug was killed about a hundred years befor that. There may be dragons but i thought they were all killed. I may be wrong but.. oh well.
