I think that the Elves lived there, but moved when they went to chanllange Morgoth to get the Silmarils. I think that is where they first met men.
Im not sure if this is right. I am eading the Silmarrilion now. So when i know more, ill get back here.

Here's what I've read. The elves awoke by Cuivienen (the land on the edge of the inland sea of Helcar), and most of them were lead by Orome to the west of Middle-Earth, and there they entered Beleriand. Finrod Felagund one ay met men who had entered Beleriand after travelling from Hildorien (in the far east of M-E, as was Cuivienen). These men were of the first house of the Edain.

It wasn't the last battle of the War of Wrath, it WAS the War of Wrath. Earendil pleaded his case and Manwe gathered the host of the valar, with the High King of all elves (Ingwe of the Vanyar) as one of its champions. They captured Morgoth but the breaking of Thangorodrim caused the land to change and Beleriand was sunk.

Didn’t the nation of Beleriand fall in that battle with the dwarves. The king refused to give the Necklace to the dwarves and the dwarves murdered him. Queen Melain was so grieved that the magical protection she provided dissipated. The dwarves heard a twisted version of the story and march and destroyed the Elven city. Most of the dwarf army was destroyed though, and was cleaned up by Beren. This incident was what caused all the bad blood between the elves and dwarves. That was what I think happened, but I could be mixed up with my countries history though.

That's one thing that happened, but it was only one dwarf realm (Nogrod) that marched on King Thingol's realm, Belegost did not.

Yes, while it was only one dwarf nation who attacked the elves, it did start the bad blood between the elves and dwarves. I believe that Lord Calaborn of Lothlorien was of that country, and the incident did not in dear him to dwarves. But Galadriel was more sympathetic to the dwarves, as it was possible that she was the one who gave the dwarves the seven, not Sauron.

It wasn't the last battle of the War of Wrath, it WAS the War of Wrath. But Beleriand was actually properly destroyed during the last battle

The only thing I know about Beleriand is that it is near the Blue Mountains.
