Just wondering if everyone here has read the books (LotR at least), and if so, what did you think?
When I read the books I had just finished the Harry Potter books and I had found them really good. But when I read LotR my mind was quite literally blown away. It was at least 100x better than Harry Potter. The atmosphere was electric and subtle at the same time (don't ask me how, ask Chris Tolkien), the landscape was described beautifully and the characters personality's were extremely delicatley described.
I give them 100%, 10/10, 100/100/ a big fat *****.

How long does it take you to read the books now?
It takes me about 4-5 hours for each book, but that's non-stop with nothing else happpening, sometimes it could take me a few days for 1 book. It depends on my state of mind.
Imbeglin.
WARNING: When I start to talk about things like this it shows I am getting bored. lol

First time through the LoTR, took me like, a weekend with homework, sleep, going out, etc. Normally I would read it for like two hours a night, so I'd say overall it maybe took me like 5 hours of nonstop reading. It does depend on my state of mind, as well hehe.

Go to lordoftherings.madonna-online.ch/ and choose your avatar from the list (it's quite extensive), after that include the URL for the avatar (right-click on it and add it to your favourites) in your profile under I Have My Own Pic (don't forget to check the box!). There we go... all done.

[Last few posts deleted] Most definetely not book talk, so..sorry, but that's how it works. Start a thread in the help section, to ask a question; much easier there, you know? (No need to reply, I know you'll just say Ok, so it's not worth it
