The Two Towers was the book he changed the most. Most of the changes I really don’t care to much about, like orcs coming out of the mud. The story is just so long that you just can’t get everything in it that you would like. The two changes that I disliked was the change of Farimer’s character, and the Elves at Helm’s Deep. I understand PJ’s reason for changing Farimer, but I completely disagree with the elf incident. The elves had no reason to come, but it was first scripted for Arwen to show up here. Thank God that the Tolkien community got wind of this and made such an outcry that PJ changed his mind.

I dont have to read them to be a fan. The only benifet of reading the books is more information. Reading the books will only tell me a little more then i already know. Of course, i will read the books some time, but for the time being, i still call my self a fan.

My best book now would have to be the Hobbit. I got to stressed trying to understand the Silmarrilion. But i will try it again some time.
But the Hobbit was great. Read it twice on holiday.
