Hmm, well, i just thought that the seeing as the Elves were a very naturistic (that a real word?) that they would be able to use elemental magic. But lets see how much they change from the books and how much they keep true.

Sorry if I sounded argumentative, I was just trying to say that any magic elves used was subtle. You just didn’t see elves throwing fireballs or summoning balrogs or other similar things you see in other games and books. I do hope that they will keep to the books, if I wanted a game like the others I would by Final Fantasy XI or EQ.

Gasp and goes pale with shock
As a self proclaimed LotR historian and purist, I would probably not buy the game if it departed that far from the series
realizing that he is making a scene of him self, Galdor calms down
Actually, all I really want is a good game that stays fairly close to the books; I am not so unrealistic to quite it if it doesn’t 100% fill my beliefs about the books. Every one sees different things when they read them; there is more than one-way to interpret them.

Yes, that was what i was saying, or trying to say: the magic should be very subtle. But Arwens spell wasnt v ery subtle though, i mean, a massive tidal wave isnt very subtle.

Arwen didn’t call any tidal wave, which is my main gripe about the movie by the way. Elrond had been restraining the water in the river for years with his ring. All that happened was that Elrond removed his restraint and let the river follow its natural course. The elves couldn’t recite a spell and summon a tidal wave.

Ok, but do you mean that she didnt call any tidal waves in the book and thats why your not happy? Because i definately remember Arwen reciting sometihng and then a big ol' tidal wave crashing down on the ring wraiths...

I wish PJ hadn't changed some of the things he did in the movie, or added so many things.

Yes, in the movie it seems like Arwen summoned a tidal wave, but she did not.... at least not in the book, in fact, she was not even the one that carried Frodo away from the wraiths, i believe it was Legolas' horse, could be wrong though, been a while since i read the book, sorry if i am

I'm a little fuzzy on remembering so I wouldn't know anymore. It's been a couple years since I read the Fellowship.

I think it was Glorfindel and his horse that got frodo across the river

I think that the horses name was Asfaloth, because I remember reading something like “Fodolim, fodolim, Asfaloth or something.” And I also disliked that they took out Frodo’s defiance of the wraiths at the ford. It showed his strength and heroism early in the series before the fellowship was broken. But the movie was still good anyways ;D

I liked how the movies made Frodo lok strong early on, it built up a sort of trust in him that i thought was quite good. Even if it wasnt in the books.

In my opinion, Frodo looks like somewhat of a wimp in the movies, at least in the beginning... sure he is a hobbit, but the others did not seem that way. Of course i can see he had to carry the burden of the ring, and can understand why he would seem that way, but i would have liked them to not have portrayed him as so wimpy, just my opinion.....
Anyway guys, back to topic... I hope to use dual weapons in game, and i would like them to be enchanted, but obviously that won't happen right away. My preferred weapons would be like dual scimitars (like those Drizzt uses in the Dark Elf series, for those of you who have read the books) or like a sword and dagger. Also I think a flail would be a cool weapon to use in game

Mmmm, my dream weapons would be Duel Exotic Longswords with a fire enchantment. But your right, that will probably not be implemented early on in the game.
I wonder, if they implement enchanted swords, then will we get enchanted arrows?
