In the Fellowship you get the idea elves are amazing at fighting but in Return of The King they all die soooooo easily, it sucks, anyone know what weapons they were using?

Where did the elves fight in Return of the King? Wasn’t it only in Two Towers that they fought in, well…besides Legolas I mean.

The Elves used varied weapons, there is the bow of course, the small daggers, what you call throwing daggers, i just call them daggers because they are not only for throwing ;D, the knives, like legolas' blades, and then varied types of swords, i dont believe they used any type of axes or spears

The Elves had their bows, but in TTT, they only fought at Helm's Deep, besides Legolas. And those Elves fought with bow and arrows, then with the really cool two-handed curved Elven longswords. That's about all the weapons I can remember seeing. No daggers. Where'd you see them?

Hmm...I don't think they really had a special weapon. And the Elves didn't use magic or anything. But they did have spears, back in the Fellowship of the Ring, at the Last Alliance of Elves and men. The Elven lines had spears and shields. And Gil-galad High King's spear, Aeglos, was rather famous.

Glamdring and it's twin, Orcist(spelling?). Yeah, they're really cool. Forged in Lindon by the Elven smiths. A bit like Sting, but a whole lot bigger. Gandalf wields Glamdring, and it's said that Orcist was buried with Thorin.

As it was mentioned else where, there are going to be legendary class weapons. I hope there wont only be swords, there may be spears, bows, and axes( this is my hope anyway). And if we get a legendary weapon we wouldn’t want, an ax for an instant, we could sell them at a hefty price to the dwarves. ;D

An ax wielding elf? I never thought about that. For some reason I just can’t see Legolas killing orcs with an ax. But it could work I guess

Lol I think it would be quite cool because you don't see that often, would be a bit of a change for once instead of long knives and a bow.

That'd be rather unconventional. I don't think an Elf could really wield an axe with enough skill.
